This Little Piggy Cried Wah Wah Wah

Scott had hardly slept last night because his little piggy was hurting. Milo was in full jack russell jumping all over the bed like a rabbit with an occasional hitting Scott's toe. I took Milo and we went to pick up coffee latte's and of course Milo's munchkin. I brought Scott's latte back, gave Scott a pain pill and Milo and I headed to the dog park.
When we returned back home, Scott was sleeping. I bathed Milo and headed off to the grocery store. When I returned I put away the groceries, turned on the dishwasher and began doing laundry.
I am trying to keep Scott off his toe as much as possible but, he is trying to compromise with me. I finally told him if he tears his toe open again I am not taking him to the hospital. Men are worse than kids.

Another Escape

After work on Friday, I picked up Skylar and we headed to Disney. On our drive there she said her stomach was wanting a hot dog. After, our last incident in loosing our car I decided to be safe and write on my hand where we had parked. Skylar thought it would be a good idea to write it on her hand also.
When I asked her what was the first thing she wanted to do, her response was remember my stomach wants a hot dog. So we found a place that sold hot dogs and french fries on main street. We were very lucky because they were showing the first parade of "Dreams Do Come True". So we were able to sit and eat our hot dog and wait for the parade. Skylar loved all the dancing but, her favorite part was all the Princess's with their Prince's.
We rode whatever she wanted to ride. When we would stand in lines she would hug me and tell me she loves me. She totally melts my heart. Our last ride was the steam train all the way around the park and then it was time for her traditional bucket of popcorn and water. As soon as she was in the car and buckled in she as out like a light. When I pulled up in her driveway she asked me how we got home so fast.
After dropping her off , I headed home. I unlocked the door and when I made my way into the house I saw blood. I looked left in the dining room more blood. I said "What the hell" I looked in the kitchen, blood, down the hall ,blood. So I began to yell for Scott, he said I'm back here. I went to our bedroom, more blood. It looked like someone had been stabbed. But, still no Scott. So I yelled again and he yelled I am at the pool.
I had no idea what i was going to find. My heart was pounding. Scott was sitting in his underwear and t-shirt with his foot in the pool. I asked him what had happened - he was getting ready to get into the bed and turned his foot somehow and his little toe had gotten caught in Milo's crate. I asked to see it and he had a gash in the crease of his little piggy. I told him he needed a couple stitches but, he wanted to go to bed. I wrapped it up and helped him to bed. He asked me to get him an ice tea. I went to the fridge in the garage and there was more blood.
Scott and I were suppose to go to Daytona to see his Aunt and Uncle but, I didn't think it was a good idea. So I asked Scott to call and tell them we couldn't make it because of his toe. I had walked out of the room and when I returned I looked down at the floor to see what Milo was licking and there was a huge pool of blood. I wrapped Scott's foot and told him we were going to the hospital. When we arrived to the emergency room it was packed, so I thought we would be there most of the day. Then I noticed a familiar voice and it was a nurse friend of mine. She came in, they took Scott to x-ray, he had dislocated his toe and needed two stitches but, an injury after 8 hours cannot be stitch because of infection. So they wrapped his little toe to the toe next to it - we called it the buddy system and sent him home. We were in and out in 1 1/2 hours. It pays to know people. We came home and have been laying watching our DVR shows all day. Poor baby, his toe hurts.
Tomorrow I will have to take Milo to the dog park to let him run and relieve some energy.

Proud Mom Of An American Soilder

Blake was promoted from Private First Class to Specialist. Blake also will be at the Presidential Inauguration where he will help protect the new President of the United States.
He and Kelly will be joining us for a visit February 7-15. I am throwing them an engagement party on the 14th. I'll post the invitation picture soon, it's really cute. Blake wants to be baptised while here, they want Erica to take engagement photos - I need to call Erica for an appointment, Kellie needs two root canals and she wants to go to Disney World. So we have a busy week planned. I asked Blake what he wanted to do and he said just be home.

Prayers Are Answered

Scott and I just arrived home from our day trip to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Dr. Nick wanted a second opinion from Dr. Jakecyl on the last MRI Scott had done.
Dr. Jakecyl agrees with Dr. Nick the tumor area is stable and shows shrinkage. There is swelling in the area from radiation treatment that Scott had in '97. Dr. Jakecyl seemed to be really interested in Scott's case and told him he was an inspiration. We were told that not allot is known about Astrocytoma because it is such a slow growing tumor. When drug companies want to do studies they want to study more aggressive brain cancer to see if their drug is going to make a difference in that persons life. But, I feel brain cancer is brain cancer slow growing or not. When I fought the insurance company for Scott to receive his Arenotican I had all the studies done on brain cancer to support my facts and after reading my research they approved it. Dr. Jakecyl did say for future reference there are so many more options Scott has then he had in '97 and in '03. Again I a tribute Scott's life to Dr. Nick's research.
It is kind of scary because it amazes so many doctor's that Scott is still alive.

Happy New Year A Few Days Late

Scott and I spent New Years Eve doing nothing. New Years Day I went shopping to pick up containers to organize my Christmas ornaments. I bought 8 and then I bought another 8 and still need more. I also purchased items for a special celebration that will be posted at a later date. Scott and I took a load of things out of my garage to my mom. We brought my two niece's back, picked up Skylar on the way home and we had a sleep over.
We then woke up Saturday morning and took all three screaming girls to Animal Kingdom. That was to much walking for Scott. I guess I didn't realize that everything is further apart than Disney - so I felt really guilty. We all sang Carrie Underwood's song Before He Cheats all the way home so no one would fall asleep and all girls would crash when we got home. When I woke up this morning it looked like a junk food explosion went off in the trash can. All the girls had a great time and want to do it again. But, Aunt Dalana and Uncle Scott need time for recuperation : )
