Looks Like We Are Staying Home

for Super Bowl Sunday. We were planning on attending Anthony and Tina's super bowl party in Stuart. Scott didn't feel well after his last chemo so he is not sure how he will feel his second week. It's hard to socialize when you are not feeling well. We will try and catch up with them at a later time. It's probably easier on him to stay home.

98 %Done

Scott felt pretty good on Saturday ( the day after chemo ) he and I painted our bedroom. They were suppose to deliver our bedroom set on Saturday but because they were running behind, they rescheduled for Sunday. Because we upgraded from a queen to a king I had to buy sheets. So after they delivered and set it up I went shopping for sheets. Scott was feeling like he was on a boat so he stayed behind. Our bedroom now feels like we are in a luxurious hotel room somewhere in the tropics. I only have a couple more small things to do including call the cable man to rerun the cable to the inside wall.

Staying Neutral

Although Michelle and I will be attending different Super Bowl parties we thought it would be fun remaining neutral and not cheer for the Giants or the Patriots. So her and I will be sporting referee shirts to our parties. Matt her fiance` may be a tidbit upset - since he is a huge Patriot fan.

Quilt of Many Colors

When Skylar was born I saved her baby clothes from 0-12. I made to queen size quilt tops. I finished one quilt and hope to finish the other quilt when my boss leaves for a week in April. When Skylar comes over and we nap, she always ask me about the quilt. The colors are filled with mostly pink. I tell her I remember when... she seems to love it and it always makes me smile.
I have decided that I will make one for each of my grandchildren (as they come) and it will be a special gift from me to them.

T.V. Makes It look So Easy

HGTV finishes whole rooms in a weekend. My weekend projects seem to take longer than a weekend. Scott and I took up carpet on Saturday to begin laying wood laminate floor. I purchased the pergo snap and lock. It was really easy only a pain to cut around the door jam. Scott helped where he could, he was like a human table saw. I am not done but hope to be done by the end of this week. I would like to repaint while the furniture is out of the room. We have been sleeping our guest room and Scott's beginning to fill discombobulated. So I hope to finish before chemo on Friday.
Another upset this weekend was Scott's Packers lost to the Giants. We began watching the game last night and both of us fell asleep. When I woke up the T.V. was still playing and I heard the Giants were headed to the Super Bowl. I looked over and Scott was sound asleep. I decided to let him sleep and broke the news to him @ 4:00 this morning. He was so sure the Packers and Patriots would face off in the Super Bowl. Sorry Scott : ( Good luck Matt - who is a huge Patriot fan. As always I will have to cheer for the opposite team. I will be cheering on the Giants at this years Super Bowl party even though the Patriot's is favored to win.

I received a phone call from a young, good looking man that ask me to dinner. Yeah!! I have a date. So what if it is my son. It still melts my heart when he ask me to dinner and tells me he loves me in front of his friends.

First Project Of The New Year

Scott had chemo on Friday. Dr. Nick gave us a good MRI report. Scott felt pretty good but, seemed to complain about feeling like he was on a boat. So he was a bit green.
I decided to check off my first project of my news years resolution . I removed everything from our closet, laid wood floor, cut and nailed new base board & painted. I put together a large cabinet with doors & drawers. I placed a new closet rod and cut down my shoe organizer and fit it beside the cabinet. Now we can walk in our closet with out falling in.

2008

Our New Year started out with the passing of Scott's mother.

Happy New Year

I never make new years resolutions because I never stick to them. This year I made one and will stick to it. I plan to declutter and I actually started before the new year began. I also intended to finish little projects around the house - that means I will use Scott's power tools : )
Scott and I will spend our New Year Day with Skylar...Great way to begin the new year.
