Blake On Primetime

I had gotten Blake a computer with a web cam for his birthday. More for the fact that he could keep in touch and I would be able to see him. He left Ft. Jackson yesterday and called me to see if I would like to download yahoo to chat with him. Like I was going to pass up that chance. I downloaded yahoo and there he was. The web cam was surprisingly clear and the picture didn't really jump around allot.
He has lost some weight but, other than that he looked great. It brought tears to my eyes to actually see him but, at the same time it made me smile.

ReConnected

Our Memorial holiday began with my mother arriving Thursday ( thank you - sweet husband) and then friends that I haven't seen in 20 + years arrived. My mother worked with Margo. I used to babysit for Margo and Gary when I was 15 . One of the kids, Shannon, who is in her 30's now brought her adorable little boy Triton.
Sunday we made Margaritas and Scott BBQ chicken and corn on the cob. It was yummy..Then Triton and I made everyone ice cream cones. Triton is such a great helper :)

When we woke up Memorial Day I made coffee and breakfast for everyone. Then I began on preparations for the cookout. I made potato salad, Banana pudding, sliced watermelon and Scott made his much demanded Scotty dogs (again thank you sweet husband) Now for the best part Michelle brought her commercial Margarita maker over and was nice enough to make lime and strawberry margaritas for the guest.

Although some of us ended up in the pool, not by choice (thanks Tom & Matt) it was allot of fun. Skylar and Triton joined in the fun they would tell me I needed to get out of the pool so they could see if my chin was bleeding, I would pull myself up on the side and then let them think they pushed me back in. They thought that was really funny but, after about 45 min. of pulling myself out of the pool I was exhausted. Our company left Scott and I put the food away and crashed. I did think about Blake and missed him being home with the rest if our family and friends. We hope we stay connected with our friends and I can't wait to meet the rest of all their children.

Baby, I'm Amazed

Blake is still at Fort Jackson waiting on his security clearance. He called last night, he had been thinking about his grandmother all day and wanted to know if anyone has been to see granddad. I told him I didn't know but if he wanted Scott and I would visit him. Blake responded with a quick yes. I was at work and called Scott to see if he wanted to call granddad and see if he wanted to meet him for coffee, without hesitation he said sure why not and called granddad - granddad wasn't available so Scott told him to call him when he was. Scott continues to amaze me - he has such a wonderful heart.

Top Secret

I heard from Blake last night. He is still at Fort Jackson waiting for his security clearance before he can head to Red Stone. He has been sitting at Fort Jackson for over a week now. It seems like the military does things so backwards. I would have thought they would have worked on his clearance before he left.

The Greatest Gift Of All...

Today is mine and Scott's 8 year anniversary. It has been the best years of my life. On our fifth Anniversary I had gotten our family and closest friends together(with Michelle's help) to renew our vows. I surprised Scott with a hot air ballon ride and when we landed and drove back to where our car was, in the field, Michelle had set up a beautiful picnic basket lunch. The picnic baskets were given as gifts from Scott and I. When I first approached my mother with the idea of renewing our vows, she asked ,why we were renewing our vows so soon. Without hesitation, I answered , what if I am not given another five years. I want Scott to know what he means to me. How much he has brought to my life. The above picture was taken by me. How fitting of a picture, it was our balloon that cast this shadow.
We never wonder what to get each other for our anniversary because we have been gifted the greatest gift of all "TIME"
Scott and I plan to order dinners 2 U tonight and to watch our wedding video. It's almost like a fairytale every little girl has been read or dreamed of growing up. I feel like I have met my prince charming and we have been lucky to continue our story.. Happy Anniversary baby..
All my love forever -

Mother's Day

My mother's day was quite. Blake had prearranged my Mother's day before he left. With his girlfriend Nikki's help I received a beautiful bouquet of fresh cut flowers. On Saturday I received another bouquet of flowers from Brandi, Tom & Skylar. Scott and I was also treated to lunch at Texas Roadhouse : )
Blake called me to wish me a Happy Mother's Day : ) His girlfriend, Nikki also called me ( she scored big points) Sunday Milo had an early play date with his friends Turner and Boston. Milo was worn out. Relax, the Oxygen channel and sleep ahhhh it was great. Then it was the Survivor finale. I normally take Milo for a walk before bed but, because he was exhausted from his play date I didn't think he would be able to walk our normal walk. Oh yeah I forgot to mention our air conditioning went out and it was really hot. So I had plugged up old fashion air conditioning (fans) for us. Reminded Scott and I of the hurricanes : (

My Son, My Hero

We celebrated Blake's leaving for AIT at Planet Hollywood. I had reserved for 16 people and had a them make a cake for him. He left Monday called last night and was on his way to Fort Jackson, then to Red Stone. I am having empty nest but, have alot to keep me busy.

Aaron and Scott left on Friday for turkey hunting. They arrived safely and decided to get some rest before their early morning trip up the mountain. Blake's girlfriend Nikki had driven down from Gainsville for our planned activity on Saturday. I had made reservations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for Skylar and my sisters little girls. Trying to cram everything in one day I also made reservations for dinner at Planet Hollywood for Blake's send off.
I made little bags for the girls with a brush and comb. As we arrived at the boutique. Each girl was given a pamphlet with their name on it Ex: Princess Skylar they were to chose the hair style they wanted. Skylar went with the traditional princess, Kylee went punked diva and Reese went with extensions. They were than escorted to their dressing chair were the hair was done, the make - up and their nails. They were then told to close their eyes and make a wish and while their eyes were closed and they were making a wish a wand was dropping fairy dust . A sash was placed over them and they were spun around to the mirror to see their self for the first time. It was a magical moment.
